GBRAN Chief Denies Claims of Political Support Deal, Warns Against Internal Division
Rimson made the remarks during an online Extraordinary Congress attended by more than 100 regional and central board officials. His statement was cited in a release issued by GBRAN’s Central Executive Board Media Centre in Jakarta on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
“Do not seek validation by spreading baseless rumors. If you disagree with the way the organization is run, it is better to step down rather than spread falsehoods among fellow members,” Rimso said.
He suggested that the rumors may have been circulated by people who did not want to see GBRAN grow and develop. However, he did not identify the individuals or groups he suspected, nor did he present evidence to support the allegation.
Rimso said he had been hearing the rumors for several months. According to him, the information came from several acquaintances, including videos sent through the WhatsApp messaging platform.
He said he had chosen not to engage with the material, describing the issue as a distraction from the organization's work.
“I received the information from several colleagues, and a video was also sent to me via WhatsApp. But I never opened it, let alone watched it. In my view, this is unimportant and simply a waste of our energy,” he said.
Rimso also rejected suggestions that his age had affected his ability to remember past statements and decisions.
“I may be old, but, thank God, I am not senile. I still remember my words and statements clearly,” he said.
The rumors about an alleged political support deal reportedly emerged after GBRAN held an inauguration ceremony for its regional leadership boards across Indonesia on August 8, 2026. However, the available information does not establish the origin of the claims or provide evidence to substantiate them.
