JAMIRA and LIN Sign MoU to Strengthen Media and Investigative Cooperation

JAKARTA, Sept 1 (STUPA NEWS) — Jaringan Media Indonesia Raya (JAMIRA), an Indonesian media network, and Lembaga Investigasi Negara (LIN) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in media, information, investigative work and public education.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday at JAMIRA's headquarters in the Kayu Manis area of East Jakarta by JAMIRA Chairman RM Gusti Haes and LIN Chairman Robi Irawan Wiratmoko.

The five-year agreement provides a framework for the two organizations to develop joint programs covering information and communication, investigative activities, public education and other strategic initiatives.

One of the initial programs is the establishment of the LIN-JAMIRA Media Center, which will serve as a platform for coordination and information exchange between the two organizations.

Under the agreement, JAMIRA will contribute its media network and communications capacity, while LIN will contribute its expertise and activities in investigation and information gathering within the scope of the partnership.

The agreement also sets out provisions on the respective rights and responsibilities of both parties, confidentiality, funding, dispute resolution and termination of the cooperation.

Both organizations said the partnership was intended to strengthen the delivery of information to the public and support efforts to address issues of public interest.

The agreement also emphasizes professionalism and respect for media independence, including the editorial independence of media organizations within the JAMIRA network.

The MoU will remain in effect for five years from the date of signing, with more detailed technical cooperation to be developed through subsequent agreements between the two organizations. (gus)
