Gerakan Rakyat Party in Selayar Moves to Finalize Two Island Branches

SELAYAR ISLANDS — The Selayar Islands chapter of Indonesia's Gerakan Rakyat Party is set to finalize the establishment of two district-level branches in the island region as part of its organizational consolidation drive.

Fadly Syarif, chairman of the party's Selayar chapter, said two other district branches in the islands have already been established and are awaiting formal approval from the South Sulawesi provincial leadership.

"We expect to finalize two more district executive boards in the near future," Fadly said in a written statement.

He said the organizational process has progressed according to schedule following the registration of the party's legal documents with Indonesia's Ministry of Law and Human Rights. He added that the formation of local branches has received positive responses from communities across the island districts.

Once all district-level branches are completed, the party plans to expand its organizational structure to the village and sub-district levels as part of its institutional strengthening efforts across the Selayar Islands Regency.(Feny Hapsari)
