Yonarmed 11 Soldiers Perform Naga Guntur Geni at Borobudur Culture Festival

MAGELANG, Suara Negeri — Soldiers from the 11th Field Artillery Battalion (Yonarmed 11) of the Indonesian Army's Kostrad strategic command performed the Naga Guntur Geni attraction at the Lindu Aji Culture Fest 2026 in the Borobudur area of Central Java on Sunday (Sept. 13).

The performance was held at Taman Lumbini, near the Borobudur temple complex, as part of a cultural festival featuring traditional arts and community activities.

The soldiers performed a coordinated routine highlighting physical agility and group discipline before an audience attending the festival.

The participation of the military unit was part of efforts to support a public cultural event and strengthen interaction between soldiers and local communities, said Lieutenant Colonel Arm Ananto Kristowo, commander of Yonarmed 11.

“We are proud to be able to participate in Lindu Aji Culture Fest 2026,” Ananto said.

He said the Naga Guntur Geni performance was intended to showcase the unit's teamwork and military discipline while providing entertainment for festivalgoers.

The festival also featured traditional Javanese performances, including a jatilan parade, as well as activities involving micro, small and medium-sized businesses and community programs.

The event brought together military personnel, artists, local residents and other participants in a cultural setting around Borobudur, one of Indonesia's major tourism destinations.

For Yonarmed 11, the appearance at the festival provided an opportunity for its soldiers to take part in a community event outside their regular military duties.

The unit uses the motto “Ksatria Guntur Geni Tetap Menyala,” which translates roughly as “The Guntur Geni Knights Keep Burning.” (gus)
