Prabowo Attends Independence Day Carnival in Jakarta

JAKARTA, Aug 17 (STUPA NEWS) — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the Bersatu Nusantara Carnival in Jakarta on Monday as part of celebrations marking the country’s 81st Independence Day.
Prabowo was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Military chief General Agus Subiyanto and National Police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo were also present.
The event began with a cultural performance featuring traditional arts from various regions across Indonesia, followed by a parade of decorated vehicles representing government ministries, agencies and other public institutions.
The vehicles were decorated with themes highlighting Indonesia’s cultural diversity.
Central Jakarta police chief Commissioner Reynold E.P. Hutagalung said police, military personnel and other agencies had been deployed to secure the event and maintain public order.
The carnival was held around the National Monument, or Monas, in Central Jakarta. (Janne Sinten)
