STUPA NEWS ■ NTT — A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday, causing severe damage in parts of the region, including the collapse of Maumere Port.
The strong earthquake shook Flores and surrounding areas, with reports of structural damage emerging shortly after the tremor.
The collapse of the port has disrupted activity at one of the key transportation hubs in Maumere, while authorities assess the extent of the damage and possible casualties.
Emergency response teams have been deployed to affected areas to conduct assessments and assist residents.
