Indonesia Police Conduct Community Patrol in Papua's Sinak District

STUPA ■ PAPUA — Personnel from Indonesia's Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 conducted a community patrol in Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Sunday, engaging with residents as part of efforts to maintain security and strengthen communication with local communities.

During the patrol, officers spoke with residents about daily activities, local conditions and security concerns in the area.

One resident, who declined to be identified, said the direct interaction gave community members an opportunity to share their views with police.

"We are happy when the officers come and speak directly with the community. We can express what we are experiencing and discuss conditions in our village," the resident said.

Operation Damai Cartenz Commander Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani said the dialogue-based patrols were intended not only to maintain public order but also to enable officers to better understand conditions on the ground through direct communication with residents.

"Direct dialogue allows us to listen to the community's concerns and better understand the situation in the field, which supports our operational duties," Faizal said in a statement.

Deputy Commander Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga said officers were instructed to incorporate community engagement into routine patrols to gather public feedback and strengthen cooperation in maintaining local security.
