JAKARTA, Aug. 10 (STUPA NEWS) — The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) East Jakarta Mayor's Office Working Group and the Pulogadung District administration agreed to strengthen communication on public information about government programmes, public services and development in the area.

The agreement was discussed during a meeting at the Pulogadung District Office in East Jakarta on Monday.

Rudolf Simbolon, chairman of the PWI East Jakarta Mayor's Office Working Group, said the group was committed to carrying out its journalistic duties professionally and in accordance with the journalistic code of ethics.

"The presence of the PWI East Jakarta Mayor's Office Working Group is aimed at encouraging stakeholders, particularly the Pulogadung District administration and its officials, to work together to support development and strengthen public communication about government programmes," Rudolf said.

Pulogadung District Head Syafrudin Chandra welcomed the cooperation, saying the media could help build public trust by providing information that is fast, accurate and accountable.

"We welcome the presence of the PWI East Jakarta Mayor's Office Working Group. Let us work together to provide positive and educational information to support development in Pulogadung," Syafrudin said.
