Divif 1 Kostrad Conducts Fogging Campaign to Help Prevent Dengue Fever

STUPA NEWS ■ DEPOK —  Denma of the 1st Infantry Division (Divif 1) Kostrad carried out a fogging operation across its headquarters complex in Cilodong, Depok, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of dengue fever among military personnel and their families.

The operation, conducted on Saturday, covered office buildings and military housing areas to reduce the population of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the primary vector responsible for transmitting dengue virus.

Acting Denma Commander Lt. Col. Andy Ahmad said the initiative was intended to safeguard the health of soldiers, civilian employees, and their families living within the military compound.

In addition to fogging, he urged personnel and residents to consistently implement Indonesia's 3M Plus mosquito control campaign, which includes draining water containers, tightly covering water storage, recycling or disposing of unused items that can collect standing water, and adopting additional preventive measures to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.

"The success of dengue prevention depends not only on fogging but also on maintaining a clean environment and eliminating mosquito breeding grounds on a regular basis," Andy said.

The preventive campaign forms part of Divif 1 Kostrad's broader public health measures aimed at maintaining a safe and healthy environment amid continued vigilance against mosquito-borne diseases in Indonesia. (Gusti)
