Jakarta GBRAN Attends Kesbangpol Outreach on Community Organization Policy and Legal Compliance

STUPA NEWS ■ JAKARTA — The Regional Executive Board (DPD) of Gerakan Berani Nusantara (G-BRAN) Jakarta attended a face-to-face outreach program on the 2026 Community Organization Policy, organized by the Jakarta Provincial National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) at Hotel Orchardz Industri, Jakarta, on Thursday (July 30, 2026).

The event brought together at least 20 officially registered community organizations (ormas) under Kesbangpol Jakarta. It aimed to strengthen organizations' understanding of the latest government policies, organizational governance, and the role of community organizations as strategic partners in supporting public development.

Representing G-BRAN Jakarta were Regional Chairman Rahadian Djafri, accompanied by Secretary General Mahdi Priatna, Treasurer Rivano Karim, Deputy Secretary Khairul Basri, and board member Gusti Hadi.

During the session, Kesbangpol Jakarta emphasized the importance of legal registration for community organizations. According to the agency, organizations that choose not to obtain legal entity status or official registration are not entitled to government services, are ineligible to receive grants or social assistance funded by the national or regional budgets, and are not required to submit periodic activity reports to the supervising authority.

The program also covered procedures for establishing legally recognized associations, including the implementation of Article 35 of Law No. 17 of 2013 on Community Organizations and related regulations.

Data presented during the event showed that Indonesia currently has approximately 666,259 legally registered community organization entities, consisting of 415,534 foundations and 250,725 associations that have received legal approval from the Ministry of Law.

Speaking on behalf of G-BRAN Jakarta, Secretary General Mahdi Priatna welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to the Head of the Jakarta Provincial National Unity and Politics Agency, Muhamad Matsani, for organizing the outreach program.

"We highly appreciate Kesbangpol Jakarta for organizing this event. It has provided valuable insights into the legal framework governing community organizations and strengthened our understanding of how civil society organizations can serve as strategic partners of the government in supporting community development," Mahdi said.

He added that the program is important to ensure that community organizations fully understand their rights, responsibilities, and governance standards in accordance with Indonesian law.

Mahdi reaffirmed G-BRAN Jakarta's commitment to maintaining organizational legality and strengthening cooperation with the Jakarta Provincial Government in implementing social empowerment and community development programs.(Gus)
